BREAKING: Abia Governor Ikpeazu loses Chief Of staff

The Chief of Staff to Governor Okozie Ikpeazu of Abia state, Mr. Chijioke Nwakodo has been reported dead - Nwakodo was appointed Chief of Staff to the governor on June 3, 2015 - He was also one-time chairman of Umuahia North Local Government (1999 to 2002) The Chief of Staff to Governor Okozie Ikepazu of Abia state, Mr. Chijioke Nwakodo is dead. 9jaupdate247 gathered that Nwakodo, 56, died in a London hospital on Thursday evening, August 10, his younger brother, Mr. Obidike Nwakodo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday August 11 in Umuahia. Nwakodo further said that the news of his death was communicated to the family on Thursday evening.

NAIJ.com gathered that Nwakodo, 56, died in a London hospital on Thursday evening, August 10, his younger brother, Mr. Obidike Nwakodo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday August 11 in Umuahia. Nwakodo further said that the news of his death was communicated to the family on Thursday evening. It was learnt that Nwakodo, a father of two, was appointed Chief of Staff to the governor on June 3, 2015. Nwakodo, a politician and businessman, was born on March 29, 1961. He was a one-time chairman of Umuahia North Local Government (1999 to 2002), where he was nicknamed “zero allocation”. The deceased also served as the chief economic adviser to former Gov. Theodore Orji.

 Nwakodo's younger brother, Obidike, was seen receiving calls from sympathisers, who trickled into the house of the deceased to confirm his death and to offer sympathy. (NAN) Meanwhile, 9jaupdate247  had previously reported that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu dissolved the state executive council, including commissioners and special advisers as well as senior special assistants.

Amaechi removes managers, others over ticket racketeering at rail stations

The Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi has directed that the station managers, porters, and ticket officials at Idu and Rigasa rail stations be removed for alleged ticket racketeering at the stations. Amaechi gave the directive while inspecting the Abuja-Kaduna rail stations on Friday in Abuja.
