LATEST  - Unknown gunmen have again attacked Anambra church - Gunmen had on Sunday August 6 killed some worshippers at Ozubulu church in Anambra state - Eyewitness account revealed that the gunmen killed a policeman and a civilian Gunmen on Sunday August 13, allegedly struck at the Assemblies of God Church on the Oguta road Onitsha, Anambra state killing one policeman and a civilian. Amaechi removes managers, others over ticket racketeering at rail stations

The Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi has directed that the station managers, porters, and ticket officials at Idu and Rigasa rail stations be removed for alleged ticket racketeering at the stations. Amaechi gave the directive while inspecting the Abuja-Kaduna rail stations on Friday in Abuja. According to the minister, the directive has become imperative following complaints of passengers over racketeering of VIP tickets at the stations. He also decried the poor maintenance of the facilities, as well as the untidy surroundings of the stations.  “I am removing the station managers in Idu and Rigasa, the porters and ticket officials will be removed let’s see if it will resolve the complaints of passengers using the rail. “Some of them have complained on the social media, I believe that if any system fails, it is because the leaders allow it to fail and I will not allow that. “The money we are spending monthly, is it just for diesel alone? Anambra State Governor Reveals people behind attack on church

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state describes the gun attack on St Philips Catholic church in Ozubulu as a sacrilege - The governor dismisses suggestion that the incident was a church invasion - The Anambra state commissioner of police, Garba Umar, says the gunmen who attacked the church were dressed in black attire and spoke fluent Igbo Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has said two persons from Ozubulu who are known drug barons in South Africa are the prime suspects of the attack on St Philips Catholic church in Ozubulu. The governor made the statement on Sunday, August 6, shortly after he visited the scene of the attack in Ekwusigo local government area of the state, Channels TV reports. Obiano who described the attack as a sacrilege said the briefing he received from the police had revealed that the shooting was a reprisal attack by the drug barons who traced their victim to the church.
